How to Use

I RECOGNISE THAT is a place where people can ask or answer questions about anything and everything*. A person that asks a question can also upload an image to help illustrate it, for example-

I RECOGNISE THAT has multiple applications and is completely free to use, here's how.

Register
The first step when using I RECOGNISE THAT is to register.

1. Click on the green 'ASK OR ANSWER' button at the top of the page.
2. Click on the blue ‘Register’ button.

Once registered you’re ready to start asking or answering questions.

To ask a question

1. Click on the green 'ASK OR ANSWER' button at the top of the page.
2. If not already, login using your username and password.
3. Click on the blue button that says 'ASK A QUESTION'.
4. Enter your question, including images if required. Your question will then become viewable to others within a short time, and will remain so for 3 weeks, at which time it will expire and you will be asked to award points, which costs you nothing (more later).

To answer a question

1. Click on the green 'ASK OR ANSWER' button at the top of the page.
2. If not already, login using your username and password.
3. Click on the green button that says 'ANSWER A QUESTION’.
4. When you find a question you want to answer click on the ‘ANSWER THIS QUESTION' link on that question, then enter your answer in the answer box at the bottom of the page.

To track your questions
Asking a question is not much good unless you can see the answers.

1. Click on the green 'ASK OR ANSWER' button at the top of the page.
2. If not already, login using your username and password.
3. Click on the yellow button that says 'CURRENTLY ASKING'.
4. To see any answers that may have been left by other users click on the ‘Visit this question’ link that relates to the question you want to check.

User Points
As a little thank you to other users that have attempted to answer your question I RECOGNISE THAT asks you to award points to those users. This costs you nothing, and is quick and easy to do, here's how.

1. Click on the green ‘ASK OR ANSWER’ button at the top of the page.
2. If not already, login using your username and password.
3. Click on the orange 'EXPIRED QUESTIONS' button, you will then see your expired question.
4. Click on that question and you will see the answers that other users have provided.
5. Beside each answer you will see the text ‘Award point’ and a tick box. If a user has genuinely attempted to answer, OR, help towards answer your question simply tick the box, then click 'Finished' to award the points.

Please note once you have an expired question you will be unable to ask any more questions until you have awarded points for that expired question.

Awarding another user a point adds to their total of answered questions. Asking a question adds to a user’s total of asked questions. All users on I RECOGNISE THAT have an Asked/Answered total, which is shown like this-

Using these points I RECOGNISE THAT produces a chart of the top 10 users. This is calculated by the asked/answered ratio. For example, if a user answers more questions then they ask they are considered very helpful and thus listed higher in the chart. If however a user asks a lot more questions then they attempt to answer they are listed lower.
